3 Monetization Methods For Added Revenue

Starting a website these days doesn’t take much effort and isn’t even costly by any means. However for an online business, a shoe-string budget site can work, but you may have to take a little extra time to make it ready. There are a number of different monetization methods that you can use to make your website profitable but choosing the right one is important. The kind of method you go for depends on the type of website you have. For example, for some sites banner advertising works really well, while for the others contextual advertising gives better results. But in order to find the appropriate monetization method that you can apply to your site, you have to go through the ones that are available and get an understanding of them. In this article we shall be discussing a few monetization techniques that actually work.

The Internet is full of free discussion boards and forums that you can join without paying anything and access targeted information on a particular niche. If you have a site, it’s quite easy to build a forum related to it which has many possibilities for monetization. There are some private forums, the kind where there’s a membership fee to join, that do well, and the reason is they provide excellent and relevant information to its members. There would be no spam to deal with and the members will themselves share useful content and maintain the integrity of the forum just because they’re paying for it. Next up for monetization employs the use of your own RSS feeds, but you’ll be putting ads in them. RSS feeds, Really Simple Syndication, is nothing new online, and it provides another means to get your content out there, and of course it didn’t take online marketers long to figure out how to monetize it. You can start off by adding ads to your site’s RSS feed by using a service like Feedburner, which has a publisher network of its own. Feedburne’s advertising uses the Cost Per Thousand (CPM) model, and you can join for free.

The next type of monetization method is all about audio, or Pay Per Play; when someone lands on your site, a very short audio ad plays, it’s only about 5 seconds in duration. It never hurts to be open about trying/testing new forms of advertising or monetization, and that’s the story with this one because it is new to IM. This only lightly scratches the surface of all the monetization methods businesses use. Your best bet is to always stay alert to what is going on in business, and if you see something that catches your eye, then test it out if possible. The smart business owner never allows their business to stagnate or stop building.
